In this one day workshop you will learn how to create a large-scale mural installation from ideation to production. Together we will cover
ELEMENTS OF MURAL DESIGN
SKETCHING AND DESIGNING MURALS
TIPS, TOOLS AND TRICKS FOR MAXIMIZING EFFICIENCY
PAINTS, TOOLS AND LARGE EQUIPMENT
Students should expect to leave this workshop with the knowledge and confidence to create a large-scale mural installation from ideation to production. Students will receive an ALTM Mural Workshop ‘Zine detailing notes from the class, a Liquitex 2” paddle brush and an ART LARGER THAN ME branded painting tee.
Daren Todd is a Portland based artist, muralist, teacher and curator who has completed more than 20 mural projects in and around the Portland Metro area, Bend, OR and New York City. Daren currently teaches art to 6th-12th grade students at Pacific Crest Community School, and works as a curator for the Multnomah Arts Center Gallery, funded by Portland Parks and Rec. Daren’s personal work includes abstract acrylic paintings and colorful digital illustration for private and commercial clients.
