Hey I’m Daren!
I work as an artist, muralist, illustrator, teacher, podcaster and curator in and around Portland, Oregon.
Since 2017 I have been operating as a creative, beginning with a music focused career that involved songwriting and performing with local musicians.
In 2020 the covid-19 pandemic gave me an opportunity to refocus my creative output on visual art making, and I have been operating Art Larger Than Me ever since.
I draw inspiration for my work from my surroundings as well as my experiences, and focus on developing the building blocks of my visual language to tell stories about my life and emotions.
I like funky abstract designs, I’m drawn to bright street-art based color palettes, and I enjoy making larger-than-life sized artworks and installations designed to inspire.
The music collective I am a part of is called its future time.
